The Epoxy primer needed a week to fully cure on the bare metal, besides that I had some other things in mind: Riding the Moto Giro D’Italia!!!
The Moto Giro is a 60 year old Classic Motor Rally, loved by people from all over the world. Together there were about 260 riders from Italy, France, UK, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, USA and even Australia. About 60 percent on classic Italian bikes, like: Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Laverda etc.
My friend and I on were riding on a 1974 Honda CB500 Four and a very rare 1965 CB450 “Red Bomber”. We had a lot of head turns along our trip, those Classic Japanese bikes brought back many memories over there.
We were fortunate that the organization of the Moto Giro D’Italia was so professional. The bikes were shipped by truck from the Netherlands to the starting point in Bologna. Hotel and food was all included.
Starting in Bologna we drove a 1500 km trip, separated in 5 stages. Every stage we had to follow a route and get our card full with check point stamps. We seen the mountains (500+ hairpins a day), the flatlands, the sea (Cesenatico), Bassano di Grappa etc. a very beautiful trip.
Here are some pics to get an impression.
